It’s not unusual to see people scouring the mountain for goodies each spring enjoying a hike that often turns into a treasure hunt after they find their first iPod or camera. This was taken to an all new level on Tuesday when one of our contributors came across a Bell Jetranger Helicopter sitting forlornly in the middle of Serwas covered in snow.

As it turns out, last Friday a Canadian Helicopters Bell Jetranger 206 was working on The cel tower near the top of Serwas. The weather began to deteriorate and the pilot made the wise decision to park his chopper and walk down the hill where he was picked up by the  Big White Fire department.

The weather that made the landing necessary dumped more than 50 cm of snow on the machine over the weekend forcing the company to put any plans of a retrieval on ice.
