 Over 40 people crammed into Globe this week to take on the regular Trivia Challenge and have some mid week fun. With competition growing between past champions Team KYA (no prizes for guessing that acronym), comprising Doc Mike, Charity, Leanne and guests this week Chris and Liz, and their friendly rivals the Fire Department guys, things got fairly vocal when Polo was debated as NOT the only sport you cannot play left handed! Hosts Paul and Jude, having been accused last time of being “too old” with their choice of questions, decided to fast forward to the 2000’s with
movies, music and trivia from more recent times....which suited some, but obviously not all! Team KYA put on a great battle, as did newcomers Laura, Rachel and the Activities Desk crew. But with only 1 point in it at the end, and a couple of lucky guesses, the (WEP) Work Experience guys from the Fire Department, dubbed Global Domination in a suck up attempt to gain extra bonus points from Quiz Master Paul, reigned victorious and walked away with numerous prizes to quench their thirst!
Participating teams enjoyed delicious Tapas dishes and decadent Dessert and Irish Coffee Specials while puzzling over the questions, and debating hard with their team mates. Next Trivia battle of the brains is on Tuesday December 22nd at 8.30pm, with pre Christmas food and drink features, jugs of Sangria with your Tapas, and a festive theme to get you in the mood for the big day later that week. |
